SEDALIA DEMOCRAT CHARLES A. CAMPBELLCharles A. Campbell, 89, Buena Vista, died at Bothwell Hosptial at 1:45am Saturday. He had been a patient at the hospital since Thursday. Mr Campbell was born in Benton County, November 29, 1876, son of the late William and Elizabeth Campbell. He lived most of his life in Sedalia where he followed the blacksmith trade until he retired. He was married in 1900 to Miss Rosa Stone. They were parents of four children. One son died in infancy and another son, Willian Aubrey Campbell, died March 13,1948. Mrs Campbell died April 10,1926. Mr Campbell was remarried in Sedalia, Feb 16, 1927, to Mrs. Jennie Margie Conner, who preceded him in death Aug 19, 1949. Mr Campbell was one of a family of ten children. He was preceded in death by five bothers; John, George, Joseph, Harvey, and Ed Campbell; and two sisters, Mrs Ada Moore and Mrs Laura Dillon. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lola Smith and Mrs Lucille Wasson of Sedalia; two sisters, Mrs Mamie Lear, Cross Timbers; Mrs Sarah Shoemaker, Cole Camp; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Funeral Home at 2pm Monday. The Rev Orval F. Woolery will officiate. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery. The body is at the Ewing Funeral Home.
