Sedalia Democrat, Sunday, Dr. John B. CarlisleDr. John B. Carlisle, 1019 West Sixth, for many years a prominent physician in Sedalia, died shortly after noon Saturday. Born Jan. 29, 1895, in Sedalia, he was the son of John and Susan Carlisle, who preceded him in death. Dr. Carlisle was graduated from the Sedalia High School in 1914, took pre-med courses at the University of Missouri and was graduated with a degree in medicine from Washington University. He practiced first a Halstead, Kan. for two years then returned to Sedalia where he practiced until his retirement in 1959. Dr. Carlisle was a life member in the American College of Surgeons and American Medical Association. He was a member of the Pettis County Medical Association and the Masons, and was surgeon for the MKT and Missouri Pacific railroads. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Calvary Episcopal Church of which he was a member. The Rev. W. C. Lusk will officiate. Members of the Pettis County Medical Society will serve as honorary pallbearers. Active pallbearers will be John Bloess, Herman Bloess, Jr., Melvin H. Carl, P. Cecil Owen, Henry Salveter and Louis C. Yunker. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. The body is at the McLaughlin Chapel.
