MARION O. FLANERY

Marion O. Flanery, age 102, died Thursday, April 22, at Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton. He was born September 19, 1889. He grew up in Lee's Summit and graduated from Ruskin High School at Hickman Mills. He attended Central Missouri Business College in Warrensburg.

He was a homesteader in Colorado and taught school there. In August 1916 he was united in marriage to Addie Gillum. To this union two daughters, Martha and Jean, were born. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha. On July 4, 1931, he married Belvia Gilbert and they made their home in Warsaw. They operated a furniture store in Warsaw and later moved to Lincoln where they owned and operated a cattle ranch until 1973. His wife, Belvia, preceded him in death in July 1973. In 1974 he married Arlice Harvey at Warsaw. They continued to make their home in Warsaw until his passing.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Clinton. He is survived by his wife, Arlice, of the home; one daughter, Jean Riddle of Warrensburg; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 26, at 1:30 p.m. at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia.
