NEGRO PORTER A SUICIDE

Bernard Goss Shot Himself at Home Friday Afternoon.

Bernard Goss, a negro porter, who had been employed a the Pe__ & Byard buffet on West Second street, shot himself through the head at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon, death resulting almost instantaneously.

According to report, the negro, who had been employed but a short while, had a short time previous been paid off and informed his services were no longer needed.

Coroner W. W. Wheeler was notified and the remains were taken in charge by William Alexander.

Goss was 35 years old and is survived by a widow and three children.

In recent years Goss had worked as a porter at various business establishments and at one time was employed at the Citizens' National bank building.
