Gertrude Price Potter

Mrs. Gertrude Price Potter, 68, Route 1, Smithton, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Bothwell Hospital, where she had been a patient the past two months. She had been in failing health for the past year. Mrs. Potter was born at Clifton City, Dec. 27, 1889, daughter of Calvin and Sarah DeWitt Gehringer. Most of her lifetime was spent in that community. She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church.

In 1909, she was married to L. J. Potter, who survives at home. Also surviving are three sons, C. E. Potter, Route 5, Sedalia, Kenneth Potter, Otterville, and L. J. Potter, Jr., Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Needy and Mrs. Zeta Potter, Clifton City; two brothers, Theodore Gehringer, Columbia, and Brady Gehringer, New York City; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Gillespie Funeral Home, where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Walter L. Fuqua to officiate. Burial will be in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
