Sedalia Democrat LOUIS JAMES POTTERLouis James Potter, 85, 308 East Saline, died at Bothwell Hospital at 9:56 a.m. Monday. He was born Oct. 18, 1888, son of the late John and Mollie Sheffer Potter at Clifton City. Mr. Potter lived most of his life in the Clifton City, Otterville area, moving to Sedalia three years ago. He was a retired railroad employee, having worked for MoPac and MKT. He was a member of the Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Potter was married to Gertrude Gehringer, who preceded him in death Jan. 1, 1958. Survivors include two sons, Cue Potter, Route 5; L. J. Potter, Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. Hebert "Grace" Cox, Smithton; one brother, Ben Potter, 904 South Marshall; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Heckart-Gillespie Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Morgan officiating.The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Findley, Glenn McMullin, C. J. McNulty, John D. Petree, John N. Petree, and Sirel Todd.
