PEARL SWOPE-REAM

Mrs. Pearl Ream, 75, 319 East Broadway, died at the Bothwell Hospital at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, shortly after being admitted. She had been in failing health for several weeks. She was born in Pettis County on January 8, 1893, the daughter of the late B. F. and Lee Henderson Dillard. She lived all of her life in Sedalia and in Pettis County. Mrs. Ream was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church.

She was married at Sedalia, Dec. 10, 1910, to Hiram W. Swope. They were the parents of five children. Mr. Swope died in 1924. Mrs. Swope was married in 1925 to A. N. Ream, who died several years ago. One of a family of nine children, she was preceded in death by four sisters, one who died in infancy. Mrs. Leona Closterman, Mrs. Neoma Perkins, Mrs. Amy Bennett, and three brothers, James Dillard, Bryan Dillard, and Thomas Dillard.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clay G. (Marjorie) Williams, 414 Dal-Whi-Mo; Mrs. Edgar (Wilma) Davis, Kansas City; Mrs. Annalee Farley, Cassville, Mo.; two sons, Marcel Swope, Torrance, Calif.; Hubert Wayne Swope, Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. C. A. (Opal) Polley, Los Angeles, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

The body is at Ewing Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, the Rev. A. E. Williams, pastor of the Bethany Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
