Pettis County, Mo., Obituary

Gwendolyn L. Schluesing, 89, formerly of Smithton, died Wednesday, January 6, 1999 at Four Seasons Living Center. She was born July 19, 1909 in Pettis County, a daughter of George R. and Fannie (Griffin) Green. Mrs. Schluesing was a member of Smithton United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Women's Society. She was a homemaker and a lifelong area resident.

On August 10, 1931, in Smithton, she was married to Floyd A. Schluesing, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Schneider of Onalaska, Wisconsin; a sister, Frances Wagenknecht of Sedalia; two granddaughters and three great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chaper with the Reverand Gary Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Wagenknecht, William R. Green, Matt O. Green, George R. Green, Mac Muschany, and Mark Teter.
