Sedalia Democrat TILLIE WAGENKNECHTSMITHTON - Tillie Wagenknecht, 98, Smithton, died at the Fairview Nursing Home, Wednesday. She was born August 28, 1869, in Morgan County near Smithton, the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine Schluesing. On January 14, 1896, she married to W. T. Wagenknecht. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1934. Her entire life was spent in Morgan and Pettis Counties. She was a member of the Smithton United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, William, and John; one sister Amelia. Surviving are one son, Millard Wagenknecht, Smithton; one daughter, Mrs. William J. Lamm, Route 2 Sedalia; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren, two half-sisters, Mrs. R. R. Demand, Smithton; Mrs. Ed Sutherland, Louisiana; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Smithton Methodist Church with the Reverand George Meyer and the Reverand E. F. Dillon officiating. Music will be by Mrs. Olen Monsees and Mrs. Sheldon Smith with Miss Laura Kruse at the organ. Selections are "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and "In The Garden". Pallbearers will be Floyd Schluesing, Vernon Monsees, Eddie Ficken, Oliver Bolte, Albert Moore, and Alonzo Mahnken. Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery. The body is at the Neumeyer Funeral Home, Smithton, where friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening.
