Unk source W. S. FILESDied. In Lamonte, Mo., Saturday, June 24, 1893, of Bright's disease, in the 70th year of his age, Mr. W. S. Files. The funeral was conducted on the following Sunday at 2:30 p.m., from the family residence, by Rev. Christmas of the M.E. church in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends, and the remains were laid to rest in the Lamonte cemetary. The deceased was born in Belfast, Maine, June 11, 1824, and moved with his parents to Richland county, Ohio, when 11 years of age. Married Miss Martha Ann Ewers July 8, 1849, and resided in Knox county, Ohio, until 1867. Moved to Pettis county, Mo., where he has resided until his death. Seven children have been born to him, five of whom are living and were at his bedside during his last illness, excepting his oldest daughter who resides in New Mexico. He bore his affliction with great patience, never murmuring. For five long years he was afflicted with that dreadful disease. He was confined to his bed six weeks. He expressed a willingness to die; said all was well and slept himself away to that world beyond. Let peace be to his ashes. He was respected and honored by all who knew him.
