A Woman Drowned

After dark on night before last, a man by the name of Fogue, having his wife in the wagon with him attempted to cross Muddy on the road between Dresden and Georgetown, got into deep water, the swift current carried the wagon down stream, when to save themselves both jumped out of the wagon, and Mrs. Fogue was drowned. The report is that both mules were drowned. Mr. Fogue was found (by some parties) clinging to a bush, almost insensible from cold and fright. They had been to Sedalia trading.

The drowned lady was about 27 years old; her body was recovered and interred yesterday evening.
