Will of Thomas OwenPettis County, Missouri Know all men by their presents that I Thomas Owen of the County of Pettis and State of Missouri that I make this my last will and testament to wit: First I will and bequeath to my son Francis M. Owen my home tract of land with all the appertenances thereto belonging aught(?) the South East quarter of the North east quarter of Section Thirty one in Township forty four in Range twenty two & I also will to Francis M. Owen west half of the South East quarter of Section Thirty one containing eighty acres more or less lying in township forty four and range twenty two and also North West quarter of the North east quarter of Section Six in township forty three in Range twenty two and Francis M. Owens it to have two beds and bedding and steds and one set of chairs, one 1 horse plow, one two horse plow, one set of gearings(?) and the said Francis Owen is to take care of the said Thomas Owen and Nancy his wife their life: And I will unto my daughter Elizabeth E. Miller the South half of the South East quarter of the North east quarter of Section Thirty one in township forty four and range twenty two containing twenty acres more or less and also the East half of the South east quarter of Section Thirty one township forty four range twenty two which she is to have and to hold her natural life then to go to the heirs of William S. Miller deceased her former husband. And I will the remainder of my real and personal property to the lawful heirs of my body after all my just debts is paid which the said property is to be sold and the remainder after the debts is paid to be equally divided among my heirs which I have not hereby named. I Thomas Owen hereby appoint John Davis and George J. Owen my executors of this my last will and testament. Given under my hand this 9th day of April 1861. John Davis and John Elliott, witnesses State of Missouri, County of Pettis Be it remembered that on this 31st day of April 1864 before me Sam A. Lowe, Clerk of the Pettis County Court personally appeared John Davis and John Elliott who being by me duly sworn upon their oath depose and say that they were present and saw Thomas Owen sign the foregoing instrument purporting to be his last will and testament that at the time of signing the same the said Thomas Owen was of sound mind and more than twenty one years of age, that they signed their names to the same as attesting witnesses in presence of and at the request of said Thomas Owen the testator. John Davis, John Elliott Subscribed & Sworn to before me this 31st of May 1864; Given under my hand and seal of said County Court at Office this day and year aforesaid. Sam A.
