Will of Thomas P. E. ReesPettis County, Missouri I Thomas P.E. Rees of the County of Pettis and the State of Missouri do hereby make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner and form following that is to say: First. It is my will and I hereby direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid. Second. I will and bequeath to my wife Maria Rees the full use and enjoyment of all my estate - both real and personal during her widowhood to be used by her in such manner as she may think but for the maintenance and support of herself and the family she may have with her during said time and in such manner as she may believe will preserve and add to the value with full power to sell and dispose of any of the personal property at any time for the purposed aforesaid or for the purposes hereinafter mentioned. Third. I hereby empower and direct my said wife in her discretion to make such advances to any of my children - namely: Thomas E Rees, William Rees, Benton Rees, Maria Rees, Nancy Christian & Kate Wilms of any money or property she may think proper, charging each with whatever amount she may at any time to advance so that she make them equal in amount. Fourth. It is my will and I hereby request that in case my son Thomas E. Rees should become so infirm by bad health as to be unable to support himself by his own labor that he should be especially provided with the means of support my Executrix charging him therefore. Fifth. It is my will and I hereby direct that should my wife marry again she take of my estate the portion allowed by law and the residue thereof both real and personal be equally divided among my children herein before named and should any of them have died leaving children the share of same deceased to be divided equally among his or her children but should my wife not marry again then the division aforesaid is not to take place till after her death. And lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint my wife Maria Rees to be executrix of this my last will and testament with full force(?) and authority to execute as aforesaid. In testimony whereof I have unto set my name and seal this 13th day of December one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven. Be it remembered that on the 27th day of June 1862 personally appeared before the undersigned Clerk of the County Court of the County & State aforesaid Amos Fristoe & A Roberson the subscribing witnesses to the annexed will of Thomas P E Rees and being by me first duly sworn depose and say that the said Thomas P E Rees the testator subscribed the same in their presence and published the said will or instrument of writing as his last will that he the said Testator was at the time of publishing his said last will of sound mind and more than twenty one years of age and that they the said deponents attested the said will as witnesses thereto by subscribing their names of the same in the presence of said Testator.
